Love Me Like You Do

The leaves give in to thieving air
The trees exposed for bones are rare
This time is now for taking care

Shape shifting is for letting
Letting in & letting go
If you could see, you might know
You might show, you might see
And never grow

Branches dance without a care
Stripped away of sheathe, cleaned bare
Dropping hints for fans to fare
For air grows heavy
And I can’t bear

Basal scars reveal beyond repair
Markings never to receed
Fir roots aspire, digging deep
This time’s for playing
This time’s for keeps

What? Root despite their scars
When? Winter Solstice 2015
Where? Beneath fallen leaves
Why? Cycles
